We have several Project Groups working to address issues such as –
- liaising with the estate management company Watson to ensure the estate is managed to a high standard.
- ensuring planning enforcement takes place.
- scrutinising planning changes on the development to help resist over development and destruction of the Terry’s Chocolate heritage.
- helping manage parking issues fairly.
These groups are dynamic and we expect them to evolve as the development expands and the needs of residents change. To get in touch with any of the following Project Group leaders please email chair@cwra.co.uk
Planning and Transport: John Stevens
This group monitors any planning proposals that affect the whole or part of the Terry’s site. Local transport is also one of the group’s concerns including pedestrians, cyclists, road safety, traffic in the surrounding area and local bus services.
Estate Management: Steve Davenport
Steve is currently recruiting volunteers to help in Clock Tower Way and Joseph Terry Grove. He’s liaising with both DWH and Watson Management Company raising residents’ issues regarding the Estate – covering a wide range of concerns such as planting, contractors traffic and parking etc.
Council Tax Banding: Steve Davenport
Working hard to try to reduce the council tax banding for residents. Currently appealing to the Valuation Tribunal following a decision by the Valuation Office Agency not to change the banding.
Snagging: Mafalda Queiroz
The Chocolate Works Residents Association has analysed the data collected earlier in the year (2019) regarding past and present snagging issues affecting its residents. See the Snagging Survey page for more details.
Parking: Gary Cole
The Group’s aims are to create a fair and properly enforced parking scheme in the development.
