A brief summary of the highlights of our snagging survey appears below. Thank you to the 30 people who responded from a potential 169 dwellings. However, it is very difficult to draw firm conclusions, based on the small sample.
The key things we took from the survey were the following –
- The most commonly reported issues (out of 33 reported issues) were –
- Shower screens not preventing water escaping/poorly fitted (leaking) (40%)
- Grout in the shower room cracking/coming off (40%)
- Sound of water falling down drainpipes (40%)
- Ensuite leaking (27%)
- Media plate (ethernet & TV aerials) not fully connected (17%).
NB Percentages are of the 30 respondents, not the 169 owners/tenants
- David Wilson Homes contractors have been good at following up issues within the first two years, and they are aware of the shower room issues in particular.
Please ensure you notify DWH Customer Care of any snagging concerns which you may have within your first two years. Email: yorkshireeast@newhomecare.co.uk Tel: 01904 617660
Update March 2020
DWH has recognised the problems with the shower rooms and has appointed Cura Homecare to carry out repairs. There are two options:
- To install a shower tray in lieu of the tiled walk in shower floor
- To fully remove and reinstall the wet room shower.
Both of these repairs will be performed by Cura Homecare staff and they are now in the process of contacting each household affected.
